3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler, courtesy of Vanessa! Pours a hazy, orange-amber color; off-white head with solid lacing. Dense, resiny floral hops in the aroma; berries and some dried fruit without being sticky. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: dense mix of sticky, resiny wet hop character (floral, mineral) with a full-bodied dried fruit and maple sugar maltiness underneath; a sharp, pleasant piney and green hop note comes through at mid-palate, adding some pleasant acidity and a bit of green apple. Medium, green apple and doughy notes in the finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly cloudy copper body with a small white head. Pine tree and grapefruit on the nose. Taste is very citrusy and juicy. Big bad hops with assertive bitterness. Malt profile is rather timid but that’s alright in a beer where the balance is clearly meant to be on the hops side. Appropriate medium body and carbonation. Delicious (although pretty standard) American IPA. Very nice of them to have brewed this beer to commemorate my visit there on november 3rd. Sometimes I get dizzy seeing the word revolves around me.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Any first impressions?
-A ring of foam circles the hazy amber hues.
-Grapefruity C-hops joyfully ride the nostrils, solidly laying their resins on the memory path.
-Oranges aplenty, and piney, wooden resins are skillfully organized on the tastebuds.
-The extremely drinkable, juicy mouthfeel makes it very enjoyable at this gravity.
What if you dig deeper?
-The leafy, citrusy, resinous hop bitterness is firm but loving.
-This one is a lot cleaner overall than other Willimantic IPA offerings that day.
-Malt intelligently supports while not stepping on the dazzling hop display.
-This is a classic IPA number from Willimantic, which doesn’t have the quirky personality of others, but which satisfies to the utmost degree.
On tap at the brewpub.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lovely piney/orangey/hemp-like aroma coming from this guy. Brings back memories of my trip to San Diego about 6 months ago. Very West Coast-like. Hazy pale copper color with an off-white head. Wow-this is a West Coast MONSTER. Hempy bitterness hits you out of the gate, balanced by some nice, sweet, malts. Could use a touch more maltiness. Finishes with some grapefruit bitter hoppiness. Solid job.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Yet another incredible IPA from Main St. Cafe/Willibrew. With all the IPAs this brewery has, you would think they’d all be very similar. Not the case. Each IPA is a brand new experience, with different hops, malts, abv %. This one came cloudy orange, with almost no head. Aroma is raw, pungent, citrussy, fresh hops. The first taste is like biting into a juicy hop bud that had been soaking in a sweet malt. A bit bready, sweet, and very bitter, this is just another masterpiece in Willimantic’s masterpiece collection.
