Draught sample at the brewpub, early March 2007. WHOA another IPA from Willimantic, who’d’a thunk it? Good thing these guys are so creative with their hops....pours totally opaque, unfiltered apricot-gold with just a bit of foam that lasts for a moment or two....the nose is gorgeously spicy-perfumy, with complex interactions of cardamom, lavender, cherry blossoms and pepper, really one of the most sublime aromas in a hoppy beer I’ve experienced....flavor is not quite as delightful but still top-notch, strongly hoppy-spicy-sharp throughout, lots of carroway/rye notes, light citrus (mostly grapefruit but a hint of lime as well), twiggy-barky towards the finish....moderate, very natural carbonation and quite full body. A delight, very easy to drink despite the complexity and sharpness.
