Tasted on 6/8/2012 at SAVOR 2012. Aroma is very flowery. Taste is solid for a saison, but the flowers overpower. Okay.

Pours copper with a tan head. Smells of hay, floral, some dry malt, some underlying funkiness. Tastes spicy and earthy with some floral notes and a peppery bite on the finish. Enjoyable.

Flowery hop flavors without much bitterness at all. Like a saison. May have a Belgian yeast.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a hazy, dark golden color. There was almost no head and no lacing. The aroma is nice. A little yeasty and breadiness to the nose. Some flowery notes, as well as some faint fruits. The taste is very good. Medium bodied. Malts, some spice and pepper as well as floral tastes are in there. A bit yeasty and bready. Very nice!

On tap at the brewpub. When I had this, it was listed as a Saison, but whatever. Aroma was a confusion of sappy Belgian yeast and some soap-like florals. A little heavy. Pour is a lightly clouded pale brown-amber, with a soapy head. Flavors bounce around a bit. Florals, soap, belgian yeast, some yeast products that give a strong sensation of residual sweetness and then maybe some lingering maltose. I wanted to love this, but found it a bit off the mark and sloppy.

In short: A blonde beer of some kind packed with flower flavors. Nice thirst quencher.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy blonde orange body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose is rather floral with a touch of perfume. Taste is mainly flowery. Like chewing a garden flower bouquet and sucking the juice. Also some lavender, some honey, some bananas, some pears. The beer was very juicy and the body was a bit slim. No bitterness to speak of. A tiny bit sweet. Nothing rustic. I’m entering this as a Bière de Garde because that’s what the beer menu (and therefore the brewer) says it is. It didn’t taste like Bière de Garde imho. Whatever it was, it was refreshing and pleasant to drink. A basic refreshing blonde beer full of flowers, nothing groundbreaking , this is not a Flowers Fission.
