COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A one keg release of these blended bourbon barrel aged beers. Dark and slightly tart this is a real interesting concoction.

Pours a dark brown color with a thin light brown head. Aroma of wood barrel, fruits, mild sourness and funk. Good flavor of wood barrel, fruits, sourness and funk, there’s also mild sweetness. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and soft carbonation.

In short: A big sweet, fruity and wild kind-of-Flemish Sour ale.
How: 1L hand-bottle. Tasting session with Montreal crew
The look: Mahogany-ruby body with almost no head
In long: Nose is wild, fruity, barrel and more. Taste is big and bold. High sweetness level, medium sourness, lots of plums and dark fruits, wild yeast, dirty wood. This is supposed to be a blend of an Imperial Porter and a Barley Wine aged in Barrel with wild yeast. But I didn’t find that this tasted like an Imperial Porter or a Barley Wine. Just like I don’t find that Swedish meatballs taste like Swedish people.

(Rating #2696)

My Bottom Line:
Plum-flavored molasses, chocolate malt, raisins and brettanomyces lambicus morph into a harmonious flavor being in this, a wildly entertaining Imperial-Porter-meets-Flemish-Sour concoction.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the blackness with dark brown edges.
-Even though the carbonation was low, the mouthfeel was well rounded, making this an elegant sipper. Somewhat liquorous, but not too heavy.
-Tartness and dextrins are perfectly sequenced and levelled.
-This is the kind of brew that challenges one’s preconceptions about beer. Great work!

1-liter bottle; thanks Dave!

Pours dark brown with some random bubbles. Smells of bourbon, oak, sweet , boozy, molasses, tarte. Tastes tarte and boozy with dry oak and some bourbon notes.
