OldRaspy (292), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jun 9, 2008 On cask at the brewpub. A dark brown with next to nothing for a beige head. Aroma was malty some brown sugar and a bit nutty. Flavor was about the same as aroma with a bit of a hoppy finish.
elihapa (407), Hawaii, USA May 13, 2008 3/10/08 notes: on tap, sampled from Bram. Pours a dark brown, though not opaque. Flavor is a mixture of balanced malts and hops, rounded off with a delicious creamy texture. This is a sessionable brown ale. I think this was the most drinkable brew I sampled at Willimantic. Immy (1610), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Mar 10, 2008 Tap at the brewpub. Dark brown with a small beige head. Caramel nose, nutty, a bit of molasses. Hoppier than expected, a nice even nutty bitter tinged with citrus over sweet malt and caramel. Nice. jjpm74 (3448), Connecticut, USA Feb 22, 2008 On draught at the brewpub. Pours brown with a thin tan head. Smells of caramel, hints of citrus, some molasses, spice. Tastes moderately hoppy balanced out by some caramel and an earthy finish.
