sliffy (1951), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 17, 2008 On tap @ the brewpub: Pours a clear copper with a white head. Aroma, floral notes, yeasty, some spices. Flavor, yeast, spices, coriander, floral notes, some fruits, and pale malts. BeerVirgin72 (582), C-Bus, Ohio, USA Mar 17, 2008 Had on tap at the brewpub. Poured a very nice deep orange color. Sweet, and malty. This was by far my favorite offering from this brew pub. Very drinkable belgian style ale. Brigadier (887), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA Feb 19, 2008 On tap at brewpub
This is finally available on tap and was well worth the wait. I’m not sure when exactly it came on but at $2.50 a pint who cares? As far as Belgians go it is in that quality brewpub league that falls just short of many of the bottled releases. It is certainly on par with others I have had from brewpubs that don’t specialize in the style.
Aroma / Appearance - The copper carbonated body came with little head thanks to the cold pint glass. After I let it warm for a while I was finally able to pick up orange essence and wheatiness. The experience is sweet and ephemeral. As it warmed the experience improved considerably.
Flavor / Palate - Orange essence and cotton candy create a flavor profile that is hard to catch before fading on the back of the tongue. It could be slightly more complex but it does make a nice sessionable release. This one is not going to change your perspective on Americans brewing European styles but it is still worth trying. Sammy (3076), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 17, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Preview of a small batch. Unfiltered, orange colour with lace, yeasty, dry finish. Much better than their regular lineup and Belgian, served in appropriate personal Larry glass. Drinkable particularly without added carbonation at this point. Two months away.
