Brigadier (877), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA Mar 29, 2008 On tap at brewpub
This was the first of several pints during happy hour. $2.50 beers make it a good time to visit and try some new things. This wasn’t bad but most fruity brewpub beers feel too simplistic to me. This one is no exception. That’s not to say it isn’t either a good transition beer for someone used to Miller. It might also be good when you just want something simple.
Aroma / Appearance - A short lived chalky head was sucked into the ruby red body. Cherry cola, wheat and a trace of oak chips created a cohesive but simple experience.
Flavor / Palate - The first sip (and most later sips) were like liquified cherry pop tarts which had been left in the toaster over until the crust was slightly burned. Another comparison might be to those cheap cherry-chocolate candies. nce you get past this the mouthfeel is actually good. After a pint of this I was ready to move on but it might one you can share with someone who isn’t adventurous enough to move on to stouts and porters.
