4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Pailhead (3859) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - DEC 27, 2006
Growler: Courtesy of Styles. The aroma is huge with lots of grapefruit and pineapple. It pours transparent amber with a small white head that diminishes quickly. The flavor starts with lots of pineapple and tropical fruits. The fruity sweetness balances very weill with the big grapefruit hops finish. This is excellent and very underrated in my opinion.

Growler. Girls’ sister and brother in law, brought back from a recent trip, and man what a fine choice they made. One of the better ipa’s I’ve ever had. Nice choice for name, considering it’s a hop "bomb". Amber with minimal white head. Huge sweet resin aroma. Pineapple, orange and grapefruit. Hard to pick up any malt. Flavor again all kinds of sweet fruit esters/resin. Pineapple and grapefruit dominate. Residuel sweetness through the middle to balance. Grapefruit bite in finish, leaves you wanting more. Carbonation lacks, oily mouthfeel, but it is about 24 hrs old. Very well done!!!

Growler from Sauce, the brewer at Willoughby - thanks a bunch for this Jack. Drunk on 7/28 and 7/29/07. Pours out a brilliant burnt orange with a nice off white head. Very nice fresh pine and citrus hop aroma backed up by some rich caramell, and even a little light stone fruit. Medium body and carbonation, with a pleasing resiny chewiness. Rich malty sweetness is quickly pushed to the background by the aggressive bitterness that leads to along, satisfying dry finish. Really nice IPA.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Nephilium (1150) - Ohio, USA - APR 14, 2007
Poured from a growler purchased the night before. Pours a clear reddish-amber, with a minimal head, but good lacing. Nice strong citrus aroma, and strong hop flavor. A very tasty beverage, now if only they would bottle.

Nice copper pour with a thin white-ish head. Aroma is deep and hoppy, with some sweet pine nut overtones. Flavor is nice and hoppy, there are pine and grapefruit flavors throughout. Finish is slow and sweet-ish. Carbonation is on the low side, which is a plus in my book. Good IPA.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 2, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Crisp amber body with a creamy white head. Solid hoppy aroma - resiny with light pine and citrus notes (7+). Chewy resiny hops, light citrus comes out but it is mostly resin from the hops. Light supportive caramel malt. Very hop forward flavour. (7+) Average palate. Hops linger in the after taste. This definitely hit the spot after a long drive from Toronto. Very nice IPA.

Smells like an IPA. Very fruity, with a bit of pine. Quite bitter. I expect that the IBU’s are off the chart. Not much body to balance the bitterness. With some more body, it could be a good double/imperial IPA.

[372-20070629] Tap @ Brewpub (Willoughby, OH). VERY hoppy aroma is a little sweet and has a nice orange rind tinge. Clear, golden orange brown body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Nice super hoppy flavour, mainly citrus. Medium body is fairly dry. Not usually a fan but this is pretty solid.

7/20-21/2007: Willoughby Daisy Cutter IPA was one of my favorites at Ohio Brew Week. I drank several pints of it as did the friends I was with. The appearance is clear golden orange and the head liaves light lacing on the glass. This beer exudes grapefruit and other citrus in the hoppy and bright aroma. This beer is sweet on the frontside and wonderfully hoppy and citrusy (tangerine) on the backend. The bitterness is mild to medium and perfect for a regular IPA. The alcohol is pretty high (7.3% ABV), but none of it can be tasted. Daisy Cutter is a clean and easy to drink IPA. Super nice. My mouth is watering just thinking about this beer!
Draught (7.3% ABV, 75 IBUs) at The Pig Skin in Athens, Ohio during the Ohio Brew Week 2007. Rating #15 for this beer...
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dogbrick (6023) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 26, 2007
On draught at 69 Taps in Akron. The beer is hazy orange-amber in color with a medium white head that has fair retention. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma is piney hops with a little bit of malt and grapefruit. Medium-bodied with a good bitter quality. Resiny hops flavor coupled with fruity esters and more pine. Just a bit of malt here as well. The finish is tart and hoppy and lingers awhile. All in all there is not much to complain about here, this is a solid IPA all around.
