COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hazy Days is our American Wheat beer, made with only 2-row barley and wheat malt. Itís a nice refreshing summer beer, and to give it a more refreshing quality, we dose it with some aroma hops.

On tap at Pigskin for OBW, poured into a OBW sample glass. Pours cloudy golden with small white head and herbal hop aroma. Taste is grapefruit and some banana. Above average american wheat ale. Quite a bit of hops in this one, but it works pretty well for me.

(Growler, listed as an American Wheat) Nice clean hop aroma to start out with, pours an almost opaque orange/amber, with a full white head. Very light mouthfeel, with a little bit of creaminess from the wheat. The flavor is an interesting one, with just a touch of sweet wheat malts, then a blast of floral hops. Quite interesting for the style, and Iím really liking it.

Sample served in a plastic cup at Ohio Brew Week 2012. Thin off-white head. Faded gold / amber color. Looks hazy. Nice light crisp carbonation, clear dry finish. Guy said it was dry-hopped with amarillo, and it does taste pleasantly hoppy for a wheat ale. Good floral herbal hop flavor lasts respectably into the aftertaste. Light bitter taste. A bit of tart citrus sweet. Light wheat flavor, spices. Probably the hoppiest wheat ale Iíve ever had, too hoppy, really.. But itís an interesting effort for sure

had on tap at the brew pub, poured into pint glass a: hazy golden amber color, a bit darker than most hefeweizens I have seen. slight head with decent retetnion, reduces into a light lacing cap. s: light wheat aroma, slightly floral hop aroma. hint of slight spice and banana from yeast. t: dominating banana flavor, well done as it is not over the top. slightly spice on the after taste. This is a good Hefe.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a cloudy yellow-golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that lingered and left some lacing. The aroma was banana, citrus, clove and bread. The flavor was semi sweet and intensely bready with strong clove and light banana and bubblegum. Long finish and fairly full bodied and chewy. Nice.

Palate leaves something to be desired. No prevailing flavor and it doesnít even look great. Very thin. I wish I could even taste the bananas, this tasted basically like nothing. Was just tapped so maybe I missed something or they mispoured my beer. Disappointed.

A standard hefeweizen this is par for the course when Willoughby releases a style they know how to do. Itís not the best of show but far from being the worst sits squarely somewhere between average and above average. If this is still on tap next time I visit it might be a tough call depending what the other options are and what kind of mood I am in.

Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy dusty brown body swirls around the glass leaving a murky trail of white head. Banana nut bread and fresh banana slices put this on the favorable side of the style for me. A trace amount of chocolate accents the fruitiness very well.

Flavor / Palate - Nutty bread, day old bananas just beginning to turn yellow, and wheat blend into a smooth and satisfying mouthfeel. Creamy from start to finish it then sits comfortably on the palate. Lingering only a brief while this is not heavy in the least. The breadiness is much like that you get from a dinner roll or other cleansing fare.

[370-20070629] Tap @ Brewpub (Willoughby, OH). Some serious banana aroma. Hazy, orange light brown body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Citrus hops flavour has some more banana. Medium body is a little astringent. Possibly over-bananaed, though I do like bananas.
