This was on the board of "micro batches" as Lost Nation Pale Ale dry hopped with Target hops. To see what that was like I ordered a small sample. It turned out to be pretty solid. I’ll have to try the regular version at some point but based on this I would classify this beer as an underpowered IPA.
Aroma / Appearance - Resiny hops are evident but not overpowering. A light woodiness accents this well. The body was a carbonated mandarin orange with little head.
Flavor / Palate - I had to let this one warm for a while but eventually it was no longer ice cold. When I did give it a try I picked up a slight resiny woody taste (as if an IPA had been diluted just a bit or not made as strongly). The fluid mouthfeel was balanced enough to leave to only a temporary bitterness in the throat. This was sessionable and enjoyable though I would probably opt for the regular non-dry hopped version if I order it again. Sammy (3076), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 17, 2008 At the brewery. Golden colour with good foamy lace. C-hop aroma. Medium mouthfeel. ABove-average carbonation. An understated IPA sort of Pale. Not bad.
