on tap at WBC 10Feb2012, The description is wrong, there is too much sweetness, needs more malt or something to balance this out, just dominant sweet raspberries make it sticky to me.

This poured a nice pinkish hued orange with a white head. Aroma was was of fresh and patrially artificial raspberries. Flavor was sweeter than the aroma would let on, sweet raspberry ice cream flavor but not overly artificial with nice tart notes too. Nice fruit beer.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 shigadeyo (2400) - Harrison, Ohio, USA - JUL 16, 2009
7/13/2009: Willoughby Railway Raspberry Ale is very dark brown with a dark purple. It’s opaque and has a thin off-white crown. Some red raspberry is evident in the aroma, but not so much in the flavor. The flavor has more of a sweet, caramelized maltiness and chocolate finish. Overall this is a decent raspberry beer that would probably be better if the raspberry was emphasiszed just a bit more.
Sample (draught) at Pigskin Bar & Grill in Athens, Ohio during Ohio Brew Week 2009. Rating #14 for this beer.

Growler from brewpub
My wife picked up a growler of this on the way home from work. She likes it and since we had so much I figured it was worth trying. The Daisy Cutter at the GTMW was great. This wasn’t bad either but when your standard for raspberry fruit beers is New Glarus Raspberry Tart it can be hard to measure up. Still it wasn’t bad; if I were more into fruit beers it would be worth ordering again.
Aroma / Appearance - A short lived sandy head lingered above the purple body. Carbonation bubbled throughout. Raspberry truffles, slightly overcooked brownies and semi-sweet chocolate create an interesting tapestry. The raspberries are definitely the strongest part of the nose.
Flavor / Palate - Overcooked brownies, rye bread and raspberries form a sweet mouthfeel with a bit of bitterness. Tartness keeps things fresh with a light finish. It reminds me of a simpler Raspberry Tart. It was decent but I thought it could have been a little better without the brownie start.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mabel (5043) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 9, 2007
[373-20070629] Tap @ Brewpub (Willoughby, OH). All raspberry aroma. Hazy, dark brown red body with no head. Super raspberry juice flavour is a little tart and a little sweet after. Medium body. Very juicy, like liquified jam.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 2, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Deep red headless body. Strong aroma of raspberry is quite fruity and just a touch jammy. Flavour is quite similar with lots of sweet raspberry flavour and does not have the green raspberry leaf notes that some others do. Average palate, touch undercarbonated. Decent enough. Fruit dominates over any underlying beer character, but its pleasant.

On tap at the Oakroom in Athens Ohio. Very berry aroma. Looks like a cola. Tastes like a raspberry cola. Not my cup of tea, as they say.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 TheOrange (479) - Kent, Ohio, USA - OCT 14, 2006
On tap at th Willoughby Brewing Company. The pour has a purple-ish pink hue, as does the nice foamy head. The aroma is very similar to a raspberry lambic. The flavor, however, is not. This light bodied beer has a very mellow hop and malt balance, with the sweatness andraspberry flavor coming through, through the tasteing. I’m not a big fan of fruit beers, most I haven’t care for, but this was good. Easy to drink, andvery enjoyable.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 aracauna (2855) - Georgia, USA - JUL 26, 2005
Easily one of the better raspberry beers I’ve ever had (other than a well done framboise lambic of course). Deep purple ruby body. Slightly spicy with caramel and brown sugar. One of the more interesting fruit beers I’ve had.
