3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The aroma has roasted malt and some chocolate. The appearance is darker amber than most of the style with a small head. The flavor is very toasty with some caramel and just enough bitterness. The palate is smooth and gives a nice mouth feel. The aftertaste is like burnt bread and really the only negative to this beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very malty aroma..lots of caramel malt in this. Reddish umber in color with a firm pinky thick head and good lacing. Flavor is all smooth and simple malts with a lot of caramel and hints of vanilla. Has a barely wine feel to the flavor just without all the alcohol. Much more than I expected from it, but very one dimensional flavor wise.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not bad at all for another Dergy’s $3.99/6-pack special. Cloudy amber red color with a very thin head that stayed throughout. I have to say my first sip out of the bottle I said did they accidently put the porter in this and had to pour it in a glass to see that it wasn’t black, it tasted just like the porter, but with slight more piney hoppy bitterness. The porter does have the slight chocolate to it though.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. A friend sent this to me from his travels in the southeast. My first NC beer. A cloudy amber color with a tan head. A nice aroma of chocolate, malts, sweet fruits. I could almost think it was a barley wine. A deep rich flavor of chocolate, malts, with a flair of fruits. Quite good for an amber ale.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This isn't terrible, but I won't drive to NC to get it. Lacks flavor, but maybe it was a bad bottle.

On tap GABF 02: Light hoppy aroma, clear orange color, watery palate. Light and sucky.
