Gravity at Cambridge Beer Festival 2010. Clear amber with quite a fruity scent. Hint of carbonation, with a slightly sticky, silky mouthfeel. Some bitterness and a dry end. Lemon and apples in the mouth.

Cask. A ruddy chestnut brown with a small and creamy, lasting and lacing off-White to light beige head. Mixed berry and mid-fruit characters with some gently roasted malt and nuttiness. Simple, clean and easy-drinking. Light to medium body, low carbonation and a soft length and intensity fruit-led finish.

Bottle from the bottle shop in Leek, gone down hill since I last went, nothing really of note anymore so I bought this. Aroma is fresh pine, floral notes, some caramel malts. Flavour is pretty malty, hint of chocolate and caramel, some medium bitterness. Not brilliant but not bad.

Bottle. Brown with a small head. Malty with traces of chocolate. Much more flavour than for some reason I had expected. Refreshing and quite thirst quenching. Nice.

Cask, Slug and Lettuce, Leicester. Golden with an off white foam. Aromas are biscuit and grain with spices. Some light apple. Flavours are dry grain with cardboard grain and light lemon. Leafy with a peppery, bitter finish OK.

On cask at Appleton Thorn Village Hall. Pours ruby brown with tan head. Nutty, dark fruits, quite thin though to be expected. A very nice mild.

I love a good light mild, one of the more endangered species of traditional British ale. However I found this a bit wanting. Too many flavours initially, then they disappear into almost nothing on the tongue. The dominating flavour is smoke.

Floral aroma, dry and bitter finish, lots of sediment, but again probably me pouring it wrongly
