COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A South German Style Hefeweizen (With Wheat) This malted wheat based ale has a cloudy straw color appearance. This is an unfiltered wheat ale featuring hints of banana and clove flavors and aromas. These interesting flavors are a byproduct of the Weinstephan yeast strain we use to brew this beer. Served with Lemon or Orange wedge.

Undercarbonated and oddly spicy, this is an interesting beer. The only aroma I get is of the lemon that was added. There is some astringency here that is no beuno.

Pours a hazy golden yellow. Aromas of bread/grains/ and some citrus. Had a taste of yeasty grains with some spice and citrus.

Sampled at the NABA 06 Fest: Yellow color with an average looking head and unspeakable lacing. The aroma has a touch of fresh harvest wheat and a touch of noble hopping. The flavor doesn’t yield near as much pleasure as the nose as it’s bland, watery, thin. On top of this there’s a slight lotiony taste in the finish. Not the best beer to start a brewfest with, but it’s certainly light enough not to linger until the next one.

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2006 Left-over sample from WBC2006. Murky straw colored ale with a sparse white head. Yeasty, citrusy nose with a bit clove and lemon. Citrus, bananas, bread and cloves in the taste. Light to medium-bodied and lightly creamy. Finishes spicy and a little bitter. And my wife likes it so it must be a good example of the style.
