4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance: healthy 3" cream head recedes slowly with abundant lacing. Color is a deep copper and quite cloudy. Moderate carbonation is visible.
Aroma: pine and citrus hops dominate the nose. But there is also a caramel malt tone.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied with a somewhat dry finish.
Flavor: grapefruit citrus, some pine oil, a bitter raisin flavor, some caramel malt and a lingering bitter finish.
Overall: a most excellent brew, but a bit on the strong/hoppy side for a pale ale. Really more of an IPA (or even a double IPA).

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
The candied aroma is quite amazing. The alcohol is well hidden beneath a pronounced malt and loads of hops. Fruit, grain and a bit of resin and whiff of gumball round out flavors. Although sweetness is present, it is balance by some bitterness.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance - Pours a very dark orange with a 1-finger head that dissipates quickly.
Aroma - Candy malt sweetness. Modest citrus/pine hop aroma. Picked up a little bit of ripe melon aroma as well.
Taste - Piney, overly bitter. There is hardly any carbonation, which really impacts the flavor in a negative way. The middle of the mouth has a caramel sweetness and the finish is dry. I also picked up a little bit of a grassy flavor.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied. Barely any carbonation. Dry finish.
Overall - This beer is okay. For an IPA, it could have more hop flavor and aroma to balance out the bitterness. I think that if it was carbonated properly it would be a decent beer however, I think this beer would be better classified as an American Strong Ale instead of an IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
16 oz. can. Pours a hazy antique gold with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of caramel, malt, grapefruit and pine. The flavor is similar to the aroma but is more concentrated, particularly the hops. Moderate bitterness at the finish. Dries out a bit towards the end as well. Medium bodied. Solid.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
16 ounce can, but says 7.2% abv. Pours a hazy golden brown with a half inch off white head that lasts. Taste is of caramel, grapefruit, hops, pine, resin, citrus and malt. Similar aroma. Has a decent, almost chewy body. The finish is dry and a bit bitter. Easy to drink and rather enjoyable. Good on a warm summer day.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a slightly hazy caramel/copper color with a medium creamy tan head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma is floral with pine and a touch of citrus...very faint metallic note. Flavor is earthy/bitter with some bready malt backing...touch of citrus, lots of pine. Mouthfeel is medium/full and silky with an earthy/piney dry finish that lingers to a very slightly medicinal taste.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Fruity, Spicy, Leafy hop character in the flavor and aroma. Also, quite a bit of caramel/crystal malt -- more than I really like. Personal preference. Enjoyable beer overall. No extra points for the really practical 16-ounce can, but it’s worthy of praise.
