We have introduced a new beer for the summer.

Eton Boatman is our second golden ale – perfect for cheering on the Olympic rowing outdoors.

Eton Boatman has a fresh clean and full flavoured taste with an ABV of 4.3%. It is brewed with a combination of American Citra hops with citrus flavours and Australian Galaxy hops with hints of exotic fruit.

All the 2012 London Olympic rowing events take place at Dorney Lake less than a mile away from our brewery. Owned and run by Eton College, it has become the top rowing centre in the UK.

Eton Boatman is now available in pubs and is available from the brewery shop in casks, 5 litre minicasks & minikegs plus 2 litre PET bottles.

Dark golden hue. Slight sickly smell but not strong. Gives a big hit of lemons & limes followed by a smooth, bitter finish. An acceptable British golden ale. Rated by BrewTom

Cask at The Falcon (JDW), High Wycombe. Golden with a thin white head and a light sparkle. A little pine up front then lots of lemon and grapefruit. Plenty of hops but not overly bitter. The more I drank it the more I liked it. Really good golden- as you’d expect from this brewery.

Cask at the Hounslow JDW, deep gold with a lasting clingy head, aromas of lime and golden biscuit. Firm bodied for a golden ale, with a dry bitterness overlaying dry-sweet malt. Very well made and in excellent nick.

Aroma: light bread malts and caramel, some hay. Appearance: clear dark-ish gold, small creamy white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: sweets continue at first but then go light bitter, from light grain malts to some floral hops. Overall: nice Golden Ale, but nothing too extraordinary. Pint at Willow Walk, Victoria.

Cask at the Wheatsheaf, Maids Moreton. Deep, clear gold copper. Aroma is fresh, herby, a bit woody and slightly astringent. Taste is bittersweet and complex: the sweetness toys with you, and the bitterness stays in the background holding up the flavour profile. Slight citrus, pine and caramel notes and aftertaste. This is a golden ale with balls. A well-executed concoction.
