Cask at The Windsor and Eton brewery. Rye beers give a solid chewy base when done well and this fits the bill. Red fruit coming through too.

Cask conditioned handpump Harp London 20/03/13. A reddy brown coloured beer with an off-white wisp of head. Sweet and hoppy with pronounced rye flavours. Well balanced and with a good body. Really well put together and tasty. I sometimes shy away from rye beers but this was one I’m glad not to have missed.

Taste comprises caramel, toffee, biscuit, grain, browb bread dough, rye, touch of hops.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry in the finish.
Decent stuff fresh from the source, didn’t really notice the 5.8% either - and easy drinker for this ABV.

Cask at the Henley Brew House. An attractive reddish copper pour with a thin white head; subdued, grainy aroma;full bodied with a slightly sourdough grainy taste with some honeyed sweetness; then a dry rye bread finish. Overall this is a delicate and refined beer, that’s very tasty.
