COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We have now brewed the final beer in our trilogy of beers to commemorate this very special Jubilee year. Available from the 15th October, it’s called CANBERRA. On the day of the Coronation, BBC footage was flown non-stop to Canada on a Canberra jet plane. This was the first time that Canadians had been able to watch an event on the same day that it had occurred. Long before the days of satellite or digital, this historic first was a major triumph. CANBERRA is a rich chestnut coloured beer to help make the Autumn and Winter evenings a little less gloomy. It is brewed with a balance of dark malts including Imperial, Chocolate, Dark Aromatic, and both Light and Dark Crystal malts. To recognise the link with both Australia and Canada, and to complete the tour of Commonwealth countries associated with this series of beers, we have used ingredients from both New World continents. CANBERRA has Galaxy hops from Australia, Nelson Sauvign from New Zealand and just a touch of Canadian maple syrup. This 4.0% ABV beer is available in casks, 5 litre mini casks and kegs and 2L PET bottles. In addition, 500ml bottles (4.2% ABV) will be available from mid-November.

Cask, gravity at the brewery, Saturday 20th October 2012 Pours light chestnut with just a smattering of bubbles across the surface. Good aroma, plenty of hops showing. In the mouth this has a distinctive autumnal feel, nutty, mellow and with a slightly rustic quality, however the hops used ensure that this is far from run of the mill. I think I can detect the maple syrup but it has been added in a sensible quantity and adds a subtle sweetness. Another very nice beer from a great brewery A7 A5 T7 P4 Ov14 3.7

500ml bottle [4.0% abv]. Clear ruby red glowing brown colour with average, frothy , diminishing, minimally lacing, off-white head. Fruity and malty aroma has notes of red berries, cautious herbal hoppy overtones. Taste is dry and fruity, notes of red berries, fruit parings, cautious hoppy overtones, dry, slightly soapy finish. Light body, almost a bit watery.

wheresthepath (1285) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - FEB 17, 2013
[Cask at the Falcon, High Wycome] Amber-red with a moderate beige head. Loads of peach up front, and more juicy tropical notes behind - mango and apricot maybe. Good resinous mouthfeel and maybe some floral honeysuckle notes. Sweet up front but well balanced with a good earthy bitterness in the finish. Great flavour, and very moreish. Another super beer from this excellent brewery.

Mid chestnut brown with strong passion fruit nose. Light body and carbonation, redcurrant, milk chocolate, followed by juicy passion fruit juice. Nice session pint in a less common style.

a_cross (320) - Poole, Dorset, ENGLAND - JAN 6, 2013
Bottle; chestnut brown, clear, no head; exotic hops on the nose - cat’s pee was more to the fore in the aroma here than in any of my previous 233 beers (not necessarily a bad thing, of course); good depth of malt flavour - a mix of toffee sweetness and light roast; some interesting hop notes too - pine and bitter citrus; zesty and crisp, with a quite a sharp, moderately bitter, dry finish; good, interesting balance of flavours.

Bree Louise, Euston 5 Nov 12. Dyp brun. Lavt skum som klamrer seg til glasset. God druearoma. Vassen smak. Litt svisker. Tilløp til syrlighet i ettersmaken.
