330ml bottle. Pours black with a red tinge, foamy tan head leaving some lacing and aroma of roast malt with peppery citrus & pine hop. Sweetish dark malt, treacle & raisins flavour, plus a juicy orangey hop bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, full bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Very drinkable black IPA.

Dark brown, big nose, fruity and with a lot of rich malts. Deep, rich...to me an imperial porter but a really good beer.

Bottle - black with a beige head. Aroma of roast malt, dark fruit, liquorice and floral hops. Similar in the taste, very well balanced, excellent smooth mouthfeel, lovely hoppy bitter finish. Excellent

Aroma: smoked flavours, salted caramel malts. Appearance: dark brown, large frothy head, quickly disappearing though. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: some bitters coming up, burnt flavours, maybe some licorice?. Overall: decent Black IPA, quite smoky aroma. Pint at the Cock Tavern, London.

Cask at The Gun Winter Ale festival. It pours dark deep brown with a small white head. Aroma is malty and grassy with nice floral hop notes. Taste is hoppier with freshly cut pineapple and mango. Nice. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Excellent cask BIPA

Cask at The Gun winter beer festival. Pours black with a small beige head which leaves nice lacing. Nose is a hop fuelled fest of passionfruit, pine and zest. All about the hops here. Plenty of earthy notes covered in big tropical fruit and piney hops. A great zesty finish with the bright fruit focus. Surprised me this. Very good

Cask at the Windsor and Eton brewery. Deep black beer with an insane frothy head. Flavour is licorice and treacle countered by lemon and pine.

Bottle from Oddbins, London Bridge. Genuinely delicious BIPA. Rich, coal tasting, big hopped. Yep. Excellent. Packed with taste.

Bottle at home from BEER:shop St Albans. Pour is dark caramel / red with a lasting light tan dense head. Aroma is liquorice, roast caramel, melanoidin, leather, light fudge. Some alcohol presence in the nose but it is under control. Hops in the nose are secondary but piney / earthy in nature. Flavour is initially malt forward with caramel, smooth roast, medium sweet dark sugar, then the hops kick in with pine and hints of grapefruit citrus. Palate is thick and slightly oily, but moderate carbonation lifts it off the tongue. The is a big bold ballsy black IPA.

Dark ruby color, small steady beige head, some lace. Milky, lactose aroma with some toasted notes. Medium-bodied. Flavor has crystal and roasted malts with notes of lactose. Finish has nice bitterness and lingering salty licorice. Not like CDAs more like well-hopped Foreign Stout.
