Beese (2570) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 2, 2013
Bottle from the Chesham Brewery Shop. Poured a very dark ruby with a thin tan head. Aroma of liquorice, black cherries and black treacle. Initial flavours of molasses, dark fruit and pine hops. Palate is burnt sugar, liquorice, roast malt and orange peal. Nice imperial variant on the highly quaffable original.

Bottle. This beer pleasantly surprised me. Pours a nice viscous black with a good initial head. Aromatic nose and balanced and smooth in the mouth. Good chocolate and coffee flavours with hints of vanilla and spice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11/07/2013 330ml bottle (thanks Theydon:Bois!) shared @ Ma che siete venuti a fŕ. Bruna, riflessi mogano, schiuma quasi nulla, poco persistente. Al naso sentori di malti tostati, luppolo, note erbacee, diacetile, forse leggero lattico. In bocca č sporca, malti tostati, luppolo, corpo medio-pieno, consistenza eccessiva. Non in perfette condizioni, peccato.

Once I’d added all my beery bits on RateBeer I was really surprised to find I had no records of drinking a beer from the county of Berkshire: today I rectify that omission, thanks to Colin for helping. Rightly or wrongly I’m pouring my 330ml bottle (BBD 26 May 2014) into a Forbidden Fruit chalice at home on 10 Jul 2013. It looked OK: bright sunlight always helps. Dark with a tanned collar and wisp, no head even tried to appear. A pity, because I always think a good head on top of a beer indicates good conditioning and a healthy product. In this case however the lack of head is made up for in the aroma and flavours. Lovely aroma of rich over roasted ground coffee with chilli chocolate bits in the mix. The taste is also over roasted coffee with deep, bitter chocolate notes throughout. Lovely brew, only the head let it down: rich and full of flavour.

Bottle from AlesByMail.co.uk. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich roast malt, rich bitter hops, flowers, chocolate and pine. Nice!
