Our black IPA, Conqueror is a rich, complex and very distinctive ale. It is brewed with a careful blend of five speciality malts along with Summit and Cascade hops to produce an intense combination of roasted flavours balanced with full fresh pine hop aroma.

Cask at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) A deep brown colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of peach, pine, roasted malts, some orange, slight chocolate and a little liquorice. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, some orange, slight peach, a little pine, liquorice and subtle coffee. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, roasted, slight citrus hop bitterness in the finish. A decent Black IPA, not as oily as some are. Well balanced and not too overly hopped. Like a chocolate orange stout at times.

On tap at Tree Folks pub in Rome-Italy. Pours black with some highlights, creamy brownish off white foam. Nose: toasted malts, bacon far away, basic hops. Mouth: easy drinking, some milky feel, burnt malts, hops are there but not aggressively characterizing it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask@gallows. Black. Ashy roasty nose. Initially some citrus, pretty nice fresh feeling fruity notes, later mostly the roast, some rubbery sweet licorice. Med full bodied. Good bitters, soft full mouthfeel. Roasty, but stale flavour. Feels bit oldish, old dusty mehhy.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Magna Carta Real Ale Festival 2015) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had malts, liquorice and pine. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were smoke, liquorice, pine, burnt malts and low bitterness. Aftertaste was smoky, burnt and bitter. Not so good roasted and smoky brew.
