COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
Our black IPA, Conqueror is a rich, complex and very distinctive ale. It is brewed with a careful blend of five speciality malts along with Summit and Cascade hops to produce an intense combination of roasted flavours balanced with full fresh pine hop aroma.

Another Black IPA enjoyed during our tasting session. Almost completely black, with an interesting citrus hop aroma. Quite heavy on the dark roast malt character - is that good for a black IPA? Very tasty beer. Good stuff.

Cask.
Rated on 20110721.
Pours dark ruby black-red colour with minimal head. Aroma of fruity hops, lots of malts and some grass. Flavour of malts, fruits and caramel. Medium to full-bodied and a bit complex but something is still missing.

Lovely fruity citrus hop aroma. Super full palate. Smooth. A bit of everything in the taste, aromatic hops, and a decent roasted malty body too. Some roast in the finish, balances the hops well. Very well crafted dark hoppy beer.

Cask at The Wenlock Arms - Aug 20 2011. Clear deep ruby/black. With a large frothy light brown lasting head. Very soft aroma and taste - more wheat than grain, very light bitterness, just wild flowers and a wisp of resin - nice light roast malt, only a hint of coffee. Light body, still, decent sweet/bitter balance (is not really either, this is more a mild than anything) - quick finish. Quaffable - but this is no way an IPA, black or otherwise.

Cask at GBBF2011.
Deep brown one with a creamy beige head. Fine hoppy aroma with grape and citrusses, cocoa, molasses, light coffee. Mild fruity flavor, easy but oily texture, grape and grapefruit, mild roasted-toasted character, some chocolate, green leaves of hops. Good one because it is not so agressive than other Black IPAs. Easy drinkable, could it slip for hours;-)

Cask - The Bree Louise, Euston, London. Poured a deep brown with a small & disappearing though lacing tan head. Roasty with piney hops, citrus and a perfumy malt note on the aroma. Roasted, lightly smoky malt & coffee contrasted by grapefruit & lemon citrus tones. Palate-coating medium body, soft carbonation, quite rich and balanced nicly with a roasty, ashy bitterness in the finish that fights for your attention with a juicy grapefruit note.
