COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular.
Our first beer and we have high hopes that one day our pump clip will become as recognisable around Windsor as the Guard’s bearskin hats that the design it is based upon. Guardsman Best Bitter is a copper-coloured session strength ale with a tangy taste, smoothed by oak conditioning and a really fresh hop. It is brewed with premium Maris Otter pale malt and a blend of Pilgrim, Styrian Golding and Fuggles hops.

An amber coloured beer with a thick white head. Biscuity again and tenuous fruit. As it progresses the fruits do become reasonable.

Some toffee in the nose but not a huge amount of anything going on here, drinkable but not worth much of a detour.

Bottle from YNWA Beershop, Kolding. Clear orange amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light hoppy - fruity. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 190213

Copper, clear, no head; biscuity malt and earthy hops; a little nutty; whilst the dry, moderately bitter finish is softer than most, presumably down to the oak, you’d be hard pressed to describe this as anything other than an ok trad bitter.

Clear amber beer, little white head. Crisp palate. Smooth malt, a little sweet. Very well balanced with vibrant fresh orange mild citrus hops, that impart a reasonable bitterness. Finishes smooth and a little fruity. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Somehow the ubiquitous 4.2% English Bitter has been made in to a decent beer!

Cask at Bree Louise with Sarah. Pours a clear amber with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of grain with some hay and earthiness with a hint of grass. Flavor had sweet grain and hay throughout with a hint of earthy pine in the finish.

Cask gravity at ’The Hangi’ nr Charlton-on-Otmoor Saturday 13th October 2012 Decent but drinking alongside Knight of the Garter and also Eton Boatman this is found wanting a little. Hoppiness is good but wish it could be a bit hoppier, a little thin but overall decent enough. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Bottle, bought @ YNWA Beershop, Kolding. Pours deep amber with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has mild red berries, caramel, sweetness, grapefruit and pine. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour has caramel, light oak, dry bitter pine. A hint of milky chocolate. Long lingering bitter finish. Nice.
