3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Copper, clear, no head; biscuity malt and earthy hops; a little nutty; whilst the dry, moderately bitter finish is softer than most, presumably down to the oak, you’d be hard pressed to describe this as anything other than an ok trad bitter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at the Cross Keys, Covent Garden. Amber, clear with a sizeable off-white head. Muted scent of caramel malt, sulphur, sarsaparilla and tamarind. Odd but certainly original. Surprisingly sweet with a strong bitter sulphurous edge. Long dry finish, bitter aftertaste. Brave but flawed.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Incredibly malty with a sweet caramel and biscuity flavour. A bit one dimensional and could do with some bittering or at least a bit more body as it had an almost home-brew kit thinness.

500ml bottle. Clear reddish copper colour with small to average, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Fruity aroma has notes of red berries. Taste is dry fruity, subtle sweetness, hints of red berries, dry hints of fruit parings, a touch of wood. Simple but nice.
