3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask (handpump) at Jolly Butchers 1st Birthday Party on 19th April 2011. Amber colour. Apparently based on Guardsman with the addition of extra hops and lime juice. Unless Guardsman has been revamped since I last tried it this has a shed-load more hops. Grassy and aromatic, with moderate bitterness. A little peppery and spicy too. Fresh and fruity. Mellow, but firm, mouthfeel. Hoppy finish. Very fresh tasting indeed. These guys arenít going mad with their beer range but what they do is generally very accomplished and well put together.

Clear amber beer, residual white head. Very mild carbonation. A trace of sweet toffee malt. Somewhat odd flavours of stale water and plastics in the mid. Some fruit and malt before the finish. Nearly decent but the mid was off putting!
