Cask; Special - Royal Wedding. Also available bottled (at 4.5%).
On sale in bottle at Windsor Farm Shop as The Duke’s Ale.
Originally brewed to commemorate the wedding of HRH Prince William and Kate Middleton, but now one of our regulars. Brewed with two specially selected hops, Sovereign and Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand. Unusually for an ale, Windsor Knot is also delicious served chilled from the fridge.

Not a bad english pale ale. Some citrus notes from the nelson sauvin and otherwise grassy. A little caramel in the malt. Not exciting but subtly put together.

Cask at Bel and Dragon, Cookham, Very nice drinkable ale, quite a sweet caramel taste with some citrus flavours that also come through and hit you, but still nicely balanced

Gravity cask @ the NWAF ’14, Derby. Dark gold to light amber. Spicy, peppery hop aroma with some bubblegum and caramel notes. Tastes bittersweet with some odd umami (meat?) flavours rolling around. A bit of salt. Strange but nice.

Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Jan 2013 - Orangey Gold in colour. Fruity; citrus orange and a hint of tropical fruit. Hoppy; grassy hops. Malty; biscuity malts, caramel. Sweetish fruity malty throughout. OK. Easy drinking.

Bottle from Ales By Mail [230114]
Golden amber, clear, thin white head that dissipates
Aroma - citrus hops, soft graprfuit, slight lemon, soft sweet fruity light malts
Taste - Soft citrus, mellow grapefruit, slight lemon, soft fruity malt, some caramel, touch of toasted malts, flavour a bit too light
Palate - Medium carb, light body, bit oily. Finish - light citrus, quite thirst quenching, soft bitter, light finish
Overall - OK but was expecting it to be better from the aroma. Prob better on cask. Don’t understand why it’s not in a 500ml bottle as its only 4%.

Cask at Black Dog Vauxhall. Short review at a work do. Clear orange, still, tiny bubbly head. Smell - not much going on here - slight citrus and malts, too toned down to describe fully. Body is medium, carbonation low. Taste - toned down citrus, fair whack of chemically hops suggesting TCP. OK overall.

Bottle at home from oddbins london bridge. orange / light amber colour with a lasting thin white head. Aroma is nutty malt with some caramel and berry english yeast esters. Some mineral character in the nose as well. Flavour is light honey / nutty malt, some caramel sweetness, mineral and english leaf hops. Solid earthy bitterness in the finish. Palate is fairly light medium body and slightly thin with a fairly dry finish.

A nice and easy to go piwo with its fine caramel moments. Drinkable all the way but maybe every beer on the 31st of December is.
