Bottle Rehills Newcastle. Clear amber beer, overpowering toffee and diacetyl aroma, sweet and cloying taste, no discernible hop note at all, overly malty and a big disappointment

330ml bottle. Clear, dark copper colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty aroma, a touch of diluted toffee, cola. Taste is moderately sweet caramel malty, toffee notes, some resinous hop, a lemon dash; cola-like overall. Hop bitterness? - absolutely none.

330 ml bottle. Clear, amber body with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma has citric fruit, peaches malt and caramel. Flavor is smooth malty, caramel, citric fruit and decent bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Quite nice and refreshing, the bitterness level is probably closer to a British IPA, even if the hops are American. Or maybe like a nice malt based APA? Best one tasted from Windsweept so far.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, deep amber colour with a short and tanned foamy layer. Fruity and mildly spicy hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit, citrus and berries, backed by mildly toasted and delicately ethereally/minty notes. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Mildly toasted and earthy malty base with hints of caramel, as well as piney and slightly fruity hops; quite dry and quite balanced caramelly malty and mildly resiny and fruity hoppy finish. Likeable. 16.XII.14

Bottle. Dark amber in color and with a small, off-white head. Almost clear. It has quite a lot of diacetyl, although less than in Typhoon. Fruityness, tropical fruits like peaches and mango, with pine notes and a flowery touch. Malts in the back. It’s soft on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Full body. Diacetyl in the flavor too, with quite a lot of fruityness. Some bitterness too, but I’d like more of it. Lasting finish, quite dry. Not bad this one, but too much diacetyl to get a high score. 150131

Bottle courtesy of work colleague John Campbell, (cheers John!) consumed at home, Saturday 31st January 2015 Pours amber with a filmy white head. Interestingly the aroma has a little sharp hint of vinegar (possibly infected) but it absolutely doesn’t translate into the mouth thankfully. Initially comes across as sweet, malty and a little bit orangey, med’ body. Lacks a big hoppy oomph but fine. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

Amber coloured pour with a creamy white head. Nose is awesome. Bright and juicy with notes of berry fruits and a touch of spice. Lightly hoppy and a bit peppery. A bit of cooked malt and some toastiness. Lightly fruity. Some soft berry character and a touch of dark toasted malt. Awesome.
