Bottle. Chocolate, caramel, dark berries with loads of sweet maltiness. Pretty heavy going.

Bottle from Aldi. Not unpleasant. It's like a more intense and complex GK Abbots Ale. Sweet and quite nice dry afters. The big problem is this: it's hard going after a few sips. Your palate gets exhausted eventually and you wish it was more quaffable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Flaske 500ml fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Langnes. Dyp dyp amber. Pent høyt skum som daler veldig sakte. Kniplingslacing. Beskjeden maltaroma. Smaken malt & karamell. Passet fint til kjøttmat.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Dark copper-brown with a small creamy off-white head. Has some roasted malts but has a heavy sweetness is attached to this. Quite interesting and doesn’t feel its strength although is clearly full-bodied.

Beer5000 (5470) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 25, 2015
500 ml bottle. Clear, dark brown body with a big, but fast disappearing beige head. Aroma has light roasted, dark malt, liquorice and hint of alcohol. Flavor is medium sweet, light roasted dark malt, liquorice and hint of dry fruit. Medium body, close to be a bit weak, roasted malt in aftertaste that ends up with a faint hint of peat. Drinkable, but rather one-dimensional and not particular elegant.

Bottle at home. Has a clear, deep reddish brown with a big, beige head. Aroma of caramel, liquorice, roasted malt, cocoa and some herbs. The flavor is filled with caramel, dark berries, leather, heather honey and some brown sugar and coffee. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A sweet and a little complex strong ale. Nice.
