1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Head is initially small, frothy, brown, fully diminishing.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is lightly malty (chocolate, roasted grain), with light notes of sour cherries, crabapples, paint.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, moderately bitter, unclean.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Well, my prayers for an Impy stout from the PNW that isn’t undrinkably sweet have been answered...woo hoo! But it’s only because the beer is infected...d’oh! Massive sourness destroys all. Undrinkable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle:   Charred roasty example, and in no way feels like 11.6%.   Barely seems like 5%.   Moderately hopped, a bit astringent.   A touch of apple peel.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Has a bit of a dry chalky finish, with some roasted malts and apple peel.   Nothing out of the ordinary, and I question if this is really 11.6%.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Very mellow ... Very smooth. Good espresso and chocolate notes. Hint of roastiness. Hint of sweetness. Hint of chewiness. No ABV burn. Recommended.

Good Imperial Stout but not great. A little bit too hoppy for my taste, but overall a good beer.
