3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Medium dark brown with a red tint and a disappearing, beige, frothy, lacy, lasting, head. Nice rich smell of mostly toasted malt, brown sugar and caramel, dried fruit, with light hops in the back. Medium to full oily body with soft carbonation. Nice sweet sugary caramel malty taste but not overly sweet and a slightly herbal hop finish. A bit warming in alcohol

UPDATED: APR 27, 2014 It is a good Dopplebock beer. Aroma of raisin, leather, toast, bread. But in my opinion too bitter

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very smooth in the beginning. The mainpart is nicely malty, roasted caramel, molasses and still nicely bitter. The aftertaste gets quite malt-sweet, for me a bit too sweet, some kind of viscous, brown sugars, molasses, malt. Long and full of aroma. Warming but not sharp.
--> A nice, (for me too) sweet Doppelbock. Full of aroma- Nice! --> 12/9/10/10

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
50cl, slightly, gracefully beyond its BB date. Ok so this one has unmistakeable character, but the mix of roasted chestnut, caramel sugar and beef & vegetable broth is upfront, unmysterious and lacking real depth. Reddish chestnut brown. Dry, near-medicinal. When Doppelbock is the leather saddle to the modern world’s V8 engines, this one is a finely executed and moderately ornate one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It’s beautiful red mahogany and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, dark preserved fruits and burnt sugar. The sweet flavor has notes of dark fruits, roasted malt, caramel, burnt sugar and the finish is fairly dry and roasted.
