Commercial Description:
Cockney Imperial Stout was born at the request of Mike Wilson, publican and proprietor of Cockney Pub in Århus. Mike talked Niels Jørn into brewing a whole batch of a rich, dark, very strong stout exclusively for his pub. The stout went like wildfire, and 800 litres were sold from a single tap in the small pub in just 5 weeks! Rumors of this amazing stout spread to the rest of the country, convincing Niels that this smooth, black beer should be a constant in the WinterCoat selection. It, like many of WinterCoat's strong beers, goes down deceivingly smoothly.

On tap at Mahars. Poured a very dark brown, not black. Aroma is nice and roasted, very clean and tasty beer, with a bit of a vinegary finish.

At Gingermans nyc. A very smooth and approachable imperial stout. Smoky malts, chocolate and espresso act as the driving force behind this brew. Interestingly, this brew did not kick me in the face like many ImpSto’s have done before. Likely due to the low alcohol for the style and taming creamy body.

Draft. Pours dark brown with a lasting tan head. Roasty aroma, with an almost creamy sweetness. The flavor starts roasty, with some lighter sweet notes, and a smoky/burnt finish. Nice.

On tap at The Ginger Man
Appearance: dark brown going into black, creamy tanned , light brown top , some lace noted.4+
Nose: lighter top , roasty dark malts , ripe fruity character followed.
Flavor/Palate : rich , ripe fruits , sourness followed with smoky dark malts, chewy malted end. Dry roasty character at finish with ash smoky accents. Interesting but not great.

Hell its damn nice to pull off an Impy Stout rating of a beer I’ve never had at a Bar I’ve never been to. Good combo. Tap at Ginger Man in NYC. Pours black with a little itty bitty tan ring. Nose is swet, malty and makes you want to take that first sip. Taste is sweet, slick wow, with a lot of nice sweet chocolate. yummers....
