Blom (391), Odense, Denmark Jun 19, 2009 Black with a brownish head. Nice roasted aroma with loads of chocolate/cocoa. Starts out sweet, again chocolate-like, and then finishes nicely bitter. A very nice experience. radagast83 (1202), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jun 5, 2009 Draft at Rustico in Alexandria VA. Pours a deep dark black with a small brown head that dissipates. Aroma is dark roasted malts, with a touch of sweetness. Flavor is roasted coffee, malts, element of sweets and some smoke. Pretty well refined, smooth and easy to drink - alcohol content packs a punch but is not noticeable. deyholla (185), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 29, 2009 Cask at the Copenhagen beer festival. Poured black with a small brown head. Aroma consisted of dark roasted notes. Flavor was dark with roasted coffee flavor. Lacking something a quite conservative for me. Enjoyit (1315), Vadum, Denmark Jan 2, 2009 Black of color with a small white head. An aroma of liqurice and weak sweets. A flavor of liqurice and prunes. Fin (2980), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Nov 2, 2008 Picked this bottle up in Denmark, Sept’ 08 Pours black with beige head, big roasted and burnt malts dominate the nose with just a slight element of sourness. Sweeter in the mouth than expected, but roasted malts again and some light smokiness, bit of coffee and liquorice. FatPhil (3138), Espoo, Finland Sep 21, 2008 500ml bottle (Fish and Beer)
Glassy jet black, brief head. Sweet dark fruits, including raspberry, in the aroma. Big fruit estery body. Sweet and aromatic. Anna says walnut. Goes down so easily for 8.4%. Slayer85 (540), Firenze, Italy Sep 1, 2008 Bottled (8% ABV). The body is blacka s coal with a medium sized and persistent and almost creamy brown head. Very nice appearence and so id the aroma that has a medium maltiness, with some roastiness and notes of coffee, chocolate and some berries and smoke. Complex nose, maybe slightly less powerful for the style, but far from weak. The flavour has a medium sweetness and you are hit by the roasted malts that are quite strong. Some smoke too and the usual notes of coffee, chocolate and licorice. Medium body and not much more, soft/average carbonation, medium/long finish with medium bitterness. Lightly alcoholic. Tasty and drinkable imperial stout. EHSRanders (952), Randers C, Denmark Aug 16, 2008 Bottle. Black colour with medium creamy light brown mostly lasting head. Aroma is roasted malt. Sweet spicy flavor with notes of coffee.
