Commercial Description:
Cockney Imperial Stout was born at the request of Mike Wilson, publican and proprietor of Cockney Pub in Århus. Mike talked Niels Jørn into brewing a whole batch of a rich, dark, very strong stout exclusively for his pub. The stout went like wildfire, and 800 litres were sold from a single tap in the small pub in just 5 weeks! Rumors of this amazing stout spread to the rest of the country, convincing Niels that this smooth, black beer should be a constant in the WinterCoat selection. It, like many of WinterCoat's strong beers, goes down deceivingly smoothly.

Bottled. Almost black with red edges with thin light brown foam. Coffee, toffee, figs, cream and pear in aroma. Full flavour of coffee, black chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, raisin and alcohol. Coffee-bitter aftertaste with notes of anise, cocoa- cream and alcohol.

Roasted malty aroma with dark fruits, coffee rye and a touch of hops. Dark brown coloured with a thin, brown, lasting, somewhat frothy head. Taste is sweet. More and more bitterness towards the finish. Dark coffee-toffee, roasted malts with dark fruits. Bit watery texture. Nice brew.

Dark brown color with a tiney layer of a head. Light coffee nose- also caramel. Weird coffee taste, sugar and blackberries. A bit like Coca Cola.

Old notes from Axillas Impy night. 500 ml bottle in a trade with engelsmann. Thanks Martin! Pours a rich black with a tan head and decent lace. Aroma is dry roasted malts, light ashy hints, coffee and some chocolate along with a decent amount of smoked malts. Flavor is more coffee, chocolate, caramel, toffee, and a bit of hops in the end. Decent mouthfeel and aftertaste- ashy and smokey in the end.

500ml bottle obtained in an in-person trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>henrikb, thanks Henrik. Near black in colour, rich tan coloured head, quickly dissipating, some lacing. The aroma was of licorice, chocolate and coffee, some sweetness, light smoke with some christmas cake. The flavour was of cold coffee, a bit chalky, dark chocolate, dark cherries, some nuts, slightly sweet. Mildly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes lightly bitter, lingering, dry. A lightish Imperial Stout but still quite tasty.

Very dark brown. Aroma full of nuanced dark malt - hinting at but never quite delivering nuts, smoke, espresso, burnt fruitcake. The body is a bit light for style. Dry coffee notes with hints of nuts and smoke. The finish is a bit light, and off-dry.
