Commercial Description:
Cockney Imperial Stout was born at the request of Mike Wilson, publican and proprietor of Cockney Pub in Århus. Mike talked Niels Jørn into brewing a whole batch of a rich, dark, very strong stout exclusively for his pub. The stout went like wildfire, and 800 litres were sold from a single tap in the small pub in just 5 weeks! Rumors of this amazing stout spread to the rest of the country, convincing Niels that this smooth, black beer should be a constant in the WinterCoat selection. It, like many of WinterCoat's strong beers, goes down deceivingly smoothly.

Cask at Fynske Øldage, Odense, Denmark. Brownish-black beer with a light brown, creamy head. A little too weak aroma of roasted malt and some chocolate. Bitterness to go with the roasted elements and coffee and chocolate flavor. (051029)

(Draft at Fynske Øldage) Dark chocolate and malty aroma. Pitch black with no head. Very soft mouthfeel, no carbonation. Initially sweet but soon bitter. Bitter palate as well. Easy to drink.

Pours a dark brown to black, no head. Flavor of tar, smoke, slight chocolate and peat. Most smoke and tar. Thin bodied, moderately dry, and definitely an Imperial I don’t need to sample again.

Medium sized light brown head. Nearly all black coloured with a hint of red-brown. Aroma with notes of chokolate and roasted coffee. A taste of smoked malt and liquorice, some sweetness and a little bitter aftertaste. The 8 pct alcohol is not dominating the whole impression of this beer.
