Masser af lakrids i duften. Rigtig fin brændthed med en lille smule kaffe og en masse lakrids. God øl. Driftwood6 (214), USA

Made me think-- oh,...this is what an English style imperial stout tastes like. A bit subdued in palate and complexity. Deifnitely drinkable but almost more like a session imperial stout? gunsho (134), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2008 Cask at Cockney Pub. Small, off-white head, black, flat body. Aroma of burnt malt, coffee, smoke, leather and chocolate. Rather sweet but balanced with a long bitter finish. dmac (1449), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 10, 2008 Cask at Spuyten Duyvil. Pours a little on the lighter side for an Impy Stout but nice enough none the less. Aroma is licorice, coffee and dark fruit. Flavor is on the weak side for an Impy with an overall smokiness filled in by notes of coffee, dark fruit and some black licorice. Except for the 8.4%, which is still a little low, there really isn’t anything Imperial about this beer. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 10, 2008 Cask at Spuyten Duyvil. Dark black beer with a thin head. Tastes kind of strange. Toasted plums, and a lot of licorice. Soft dark fruits, a bit of oxidized malts and a rich vineous oxidized character. Fairly boozy as well. Roasted malts, licorice, toasted grain and cherry. It’s pretty nice, if decidedly unusual. Herbally finish on the back. It grows on you. notalush (2648), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2008 Cask at Spuyten Duyvil - nice black beer, with a serious tan head - odd aroma of lavender, licorice, coffee - quite smooth and creamy, though much of that is probably from the cask - the flavor is strongly smoky up front, followed by some bitter coffee ground flavor - at first, the beer is an odd combination of tobacco, old tire, and some rubber/phenolic/band-aid flavor - rather off-putting - oddly enough, once the beer gets around room temp, this rubbery quality disappears - the tobacco and strong coffee flavor remain, along with some creamy vanilla, and persistent smoke - unique but not entirely interesting floral character, and some fruity touches - weird, but it grew on me.
