Commercial Description:
Cockney Imperial Stout was born at the request of Mike Wilson, publican and proprietor of Cockney Pub in Århus. Mike talked Niels Jørn into brewing a whole batch of a rich, dark, very strong stout exclusively for his pub. The stout went like wildfire, and 800 litres were sold from a single tap in the small pub in just 5 weeks! Rumors of this amazing stout spread to the rest of the country, convincing Niels that this smooth, black beer should be a constant in the WinterCoat selection. It, like many of WinterCoat's strong beers, goes down deceivingly smoothly.

Thanks Jason. Best by Mar. 08. The beer pours to a dark cola colored body with a a thin light tan head. The aroma is chocolate, grains, organic aromas. The flavor is chocolate, organic-like grains, malty, stout. The palate is sweet and malty with a dry astringent roast. A nice beer, but nothing unique.

Bottled, rating # 100, thanks to sk8viking! Poured medium-deep brown with a short cap of looser-beige head, but it didn’t stick around for a while. The aroma picked up sweet and darker chocolates.. lots of nice maltage, but nothing indicating "imperial". The flavor was of softer, well-roasted darker chocolates and mild coffee with a mild herbal bitterness.. left herbal and chocolate notes at a longer finish.. again not too complex, but nice. Medium-bodied, not too complex, and warm on the palate.. not bad overall, but nothing groundbreaking.

Pitch black with bubbly white head. Fine roast & hoppy aroma. Filling body. Good roasted taste with apleasant amount of hops. Some leather notes (typical wintercoat) but I can overcome it in this one. Nice!

Bottle at home. Black with a brown head. Aroma moderate/heavy malty (roasted, licorice, dark chocolate), moderate hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter. Medium/full body, like velvet.

Brown-highlighted black. Cap of light brown. Carmel and banana aroma. Very sweet caramel flavor. Pleasant enough, but that’s the only trick this dog has.

550. Thanks, TheWolf! Pours deep opaque black with a thinnish but moussy dark tan head. Enormous explosion of chocolate and cherries on the nose. Big tingly carb in the attack, along with a nice creamy mouthfeel and very forward, sweet, roasty flavors. This is a nice one, a little tiny bit off the beaten imperial path. Finishes with some roast and sweet cling, not a lot of hop bitterness. Good stuff.
