Commercial Description:
Cockney Imperial Stout was born at the request of Mike Wilson, publican and proprietor of Cockney Pub in Århus. Mike talked Niels Jørn into brewing a whole batch of a rich, dark, very strong stout exclusively for his pub. The stout went like wildfire, and 800 litres were sold from a single tap in the small pub in just 5 weeks! Rumors of this amazing stout spread to the rest of the country, convincing Niels that this smooth, black beer should be a constant in the WinterCoat selection. It, like many of WinterCoat's strong beers, goes down deceivingly smoothly.

Cask at Cockney Pub. Small, off-white head, black, flat body. Aroma of burnt malt, coffee, smoke, leather and chocolate. Rather sweet but balanced with a long bitter finish.

The flavor is roasted, dark, chocolatey, and bitter. Slightly thin mouthfeel for the style. Bottle and label is very nice done

Cask at Fynske Øldage, Odense, Denmark. Brownish-black beer with a light brown, creamy head. A little too weak aroma of roasted malt and some chocolate. Bitterness to go with the roasted elements and coffee and chocolate flavor. (051029)

Picked this bottle up in Denmark, Sept’ 08 Pours black with beige head, big roasted and burnt malts dominate the nose with just a slight element of sourness. Sweeter in the mouth than expected, but roasted malts again and some light smokiness, bit of coffee and liquorice.

Appearance: dark brown going into black, creamy tanned , light brown top , some lace noted.4+
Nose: lighter top , roasty dark malts , ripe fruity character followed.
