COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
WinterCoat's Imperial IPA is light amber in color. The fruitiness from the ale yeast combines beautifully with the body of the malts and the feshness of the bops to create a very well-balanced, though very heavily hopped brew. Double Hop has a heady hop aroma without too much bitterness. The smooth taste belies its 8.5% alcohol content. This beer is dangerously pleasant to drink!

Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont, DC 12oz ($4.50hh): Pours a yellow orange color with a white head. Aroma is of cheese and mushrooms and dirt (this is a good thing). I don’t think that most people who sampled this beer were seriously looking at the nuance present in this beer, because this beer was seriously dirty in the way a dub-step show is dirty, which people who listen to dub-step think is a good thing. In any case, in the taste there is plenty of hop bitterness and more earth. I didn’t quite get the almost smoke, but I got some of that tasty dirt and it was good. A unique beer worth drinking by one and all.

Bottle, shared with Mike. Orange amber with sediment tailings, huge gold-tinted head. Aroma is sweet with perfumey fruit, lychee and pear. Sweet candy-ish malts, lightly floral perfumey aromatics lead into a very bitter finish with hints of spice and yeast. A very nice change to try an IIPA with some Euro hop varieties.

Strange brew this one... Appearance: Nice orange/amber color with sizeable layer of white foamy head. Aroma: I’m clearly picking up a bit of yeasty funk... quite strange. Taste: DEFINITE and STRONG funky/sour flavor dominates. I’m not sure if this is infected or old (it was a gift), but it certainly tastes nothing like any other DIPA I’ve ever had... very odd. My girlfriend LOVES sours and she is thoroughly enjoying this one... Mouthffeel & Drinkability : tart flavor makes it a bit hard to drink for me, but the mouthfeel is nice - somewhat smooth & creamy.

Tap. Poured a orange color, small head. Aroma was grapefruit notes, hops. Flavor was hops, malts, notes of caramel, slightly tart finish. Another beer that hid the alcohol quite well all things considered.
