Pours copper color with a minimal head. Aroma of caramel malts, ripe fruits, licorice notes, toffee and some nuts. Flavor of caramel malts, ripe fruit notes, nuts, hay and toffee. Promising aroma but a bit boring flavor.

Bottle. Pours murky black with medium white head. Aroma is mild. Hints of spruce. Taste is mild bitter and mild sweet. Body is light creamy with soft carbonation. Finish is medium long and light bitter with notes of sweet licorice, caramel and cream. Nice but very mild beer.

Bottle. Pours seep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of herbs, sugar, spices and malt. Flavor is sweet and malty with some fruitiness, spices and herbs. Medium body, average carbonation.

Pours clear reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, fruits, caramel and spices. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Aroma is rather malty with some berries and chocolate. Flavour is spicy and malty with bread and raisins. A bit odd and too spicy, but decent anyway.

Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, spices and light smoke. Flavour is sweet roasted caramel, spices, light smoke and light fruit.

En brun øl med kun lidt skum. Ikke imponerende. Kompleks duft af chokolade, lakrids, anis, bær og bare en god portion jul. Smagen er næsten porter-agtig med røg, lakrids og kaffe i starten, men også anis, metal, diverse krydderier og krydret humle samt en syrlig smag er tydelig senere i smagsforløbet. Afslutningen er besk og alkoholisk, hvilket trækker ret meget ned hos mig. Selve bitterheden fra humlen lægger man ikke meget mærke til. Meget, meget tynd fylde, som slet ikke passer til de kraftige smagsnuancer der ellers præger øllen. Dette her er en underlig blanding af øltyper; på visse punkter en smagfuld porter med den tyndeste krop nogensinde detekteret inden for øltypen, og på andre områder en uortodoks belgisk ale med alle mulige spændende krydderier. Alt i alt kan jeg dog ikke give den en høj karakter, da øllen i sin helhed simpelthen er for usammenhængende og de forskellige elementer ikke stemmer overens.

Copper-red pour with a thin tan head. Aroma is quite citrusy with some spice and dark fruit. Relatively sour taste, funky. This one has been in the cellar for almost two years. There is some date, plum there but just a bit too sour. I’ll re-rate if I can find it again, this time without cellaring.
