750 ml bottle of "Bink’s Grand Cru" served in a Porter Bar goblet. A wire bound synthetic ’cork’ is way too hard to remove! Thankfully, the beer was well worth the effort. Pours dark brown; opaque in the glass but dark ruby highlights at the edges. Weak head. Aroma: a mix of dark dried fruits including cherries and some pleasant, mild alcohol esters. Hints of chocolate that are more subtle in flavor. Feel: a soft, full body with light carbonation, some warming alcohol. A bit syrupy. Flavor: rich and complex. Just a touch sweeter and more alcohol laden than I’d prefer. Loaded with raisins and other dark dried fruit flavors. Faint spicing. Good balance other than being slightly over sweet. Overall: This is a fine sipping Belgian ale, best served fairly warm/ Admirably the high ABV is partially hidden.

Winterkoninkske Grand Cru 13% 750ml from Ohtsuki, shared at a work party. Dark brown with a tan head. The aroma is nutty, chocolate and fruity. Full bodied and smooth. The taste is red berries, fudge and Malts with a light warmth. Very nice stuff.

Backlog. 2010 bottle ->mini snifter from Churchkey Vintage Vault event. Labeled as "Bink Grand Cru." Dark brown with bare head. Dark fruit, earth, roasted malt, hints of ash. Tasty.

Draught at Akkurat 15/12-15. Big sweet and roasted mix of chocolate, dark bread, raisin and plum with warming alcohol. Smooth and fairly drinkable considering the ABV. Like a big fat belgian imperial stout. Didn’t "dissect" it too much, but it was damn tasty.

From notes (9/5/2014 at Ebenezers in Maine). Man this is a complex beer. It artfully combines flavors of plums, candy, Christmas pudding, biscuits and more from the malts with fruity and spicy esters from the yeast. It’s big but the alcohol is never overpowering or too present. Great beer to sip at the end of the night with friends, and one of the best I’ve ever had from Belgium.

28/11/2015 - 15cl sample, last beer @WBF2015, Bierhalle Deconinck Vichte. Dark brown with nice head. Mindblowing nose and taste, would even say a bit overdone. Definetly a beer too end with. Dark malts, chocolate, licorice, dark fruits, some wood, sweetness, some coffee, nice thick mouthfeel. WOW.

Sample from 2010 bottle during the 10th Annual Day Before Labor Day Party on 09/06/2015. The beer pours a dark brown-black color with a medium thick tan head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lace. Aroma of malt, dark fruits and yeast. Full-bodied with flavors of malt, earthy yeast, berries and figs. The finish is fruity dates and plums in the aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Ooh, this is good. Pours very dark amber brown with minimal head. Aromas are roasty, dark dried fruits, raisins, like a good quadrupel but maybe a little fruitier than average. Flavors are really nice and constantly evolving. Starts with a pleasant roastiness and sweetness, into slight fruity notes and sourness, then a really long finish with a bit of bitter chocolate.
