Beside the ‘Bloesem Bink’, you can also enjoy a second seasonal beer, the ‘Winterkoninkske’. This beer is, just like the others, unfiltered, not pasteurized, with secundary fermentation in the bottle. The ‘Winterkoninkske’ is the ideal beer to make a cold and chilly winter evening pleasant. The ingredients are: seven types of malt (among which rolled oats), two belgian types of hop, brewing liqour and yeast. Our winter beer is a dark and heartwarming beer with a pure, sugary flavour and a long, bitter aftertaste. The alcohol content of this heavy beer is 8,3 % vol.alc.

Botle from JefVerstraete, thanks! Very malty and sweet, almost syrupy. Caramel, plums, raisins, dried fruit, bread crust, subtle fruity esters. Light oxidised, akin to port wine. The dark malts get darker in the flavour, shifting from caramel to chocolate. Very subtle note of roast in the finish, preceded by licorice and complemented by spicy overtones. Complex and very tasty.

Bottle from Belgian Beer Factory. Pours very dark brown. Nose is malts, spices, syrup, very sweet, a bit burnt. Slightly artificial. Taste is very malty, dark malts, light roast, spices, syrupy, sugary, malty and bitter finish. The balance is a bit off for my taste, being so heavy in maltiness and also slightly artificial. It does have a certain winter touch though.

pours hazy light brown, burnt orange tint, with a small light beige cap offering minimal retention and lacing. dried plums, raisins, figs, almost burnt caramel, toffee, milk chocolate, junipers, violets, chewable leaves, tamari almonds, earthy grassiness, liquorice, wood, spicy yet quite fruity belgian yeast strain, some sweetness - demerara brown sugar, plum jam and maple syrup taffee. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; semi-sweet, warming and spicy finish. complex and good dark belgian strong!
