Beside the ‘Bloesem Bink’, you can also enjoy a second seasonal beer, the ‘Winterkoninkske’. This beer is, just like the others, unfiltered, not pasteurized, with secundary fermentation in the bottle. The ‘Winterkoninkske’ is the ideal beer to make a cold and chilly winter evening pleasant. The ingredients are: seven types of malt (among which rolled oats), two belgian types of hop, brewing liqour and yeast. Our winter beer is a dark and heartwarming beer with a pure, sugary flavour and a long, bitter aftertaste. The alcohol content of this heavy beer is 8,3 % vol.alc.

Bottle 33cl. Black with a brown foam head. Cmplex nose of dried fruit, banana, coffee and some spices. Very rich taste, a bit sweet (due to the rather high alcohol percentage) but nice in balance with a hoppy finish. A really nice beer

Bottle, courtesy of MiP. Pours hazy dark copper brown with airy but stable light tan head. Dark aroma of malt, caramel, fruit, and roasted nuts. Sweet, malty flavour, with pronounced fruity touches, and bitter notes of hops and alcohol. Lingering, bitter aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. A nice BSA, making one think of winter, despite the agreeable spring outside. :-)

Pours a very dark brown color with a small head and a little lacing on the glass.

The aroma is fruity, the most pronounced note seems to be ripe pear, but it’s got a nice bit of spice & a touch of chocolate. The alcohol is there but it doesn’t smell boozy.

The flavor is just a touch on the sweet side, but it’s not bad, overly sugary, or cloying at all. It has a sweetness that reminds me of something like a Rochefort 6, manageable and rich without being overly heavy on sweetness. It has flavors of pear & plum that are well complimented by a bit of spiciness. The hop character is low but certainly adds to the complexity and balance of the beer. It has some light brown sugar & the roastiness is very mild.

It most certainly comes across like a well refined abbey ale, enjoyable through and through.

Tasty dark beer with lots of spices and some nice aroma hopping. Sweet of course, but also with a bitter edge.

Malty aroma has a strong overtone of caramel with floral and clove snippets. It pours a dark, semi-transparent sepia with a thick and fairly persistent tan head. Flavor has malty, caramel, nutty, earthy and hoppy tones - and a noticeable but not ferocious alcohol nip. Thick, almost syrupy texture is quite fizzy and lively. Enjoy next to a roaring fire, with a friendly long-hair cat in your lap and heavy snow outside - or in any conditions (except while driving, piloting, or operating vital equipment).
