Beside the ‘Bloesem Bink’, you can also enjoy a second seasonal beer, the ‘Winterkoninkske’. This beer is, just like the others, unfiltered, not pasteurized, with secundary fermentation in the bottle. The ‘Winterkoninkske’ is the ideal beer to make a cold and chilly winter evening pleasant. The ingredients are: seven types of malt (among which rolled oats), two belgian types of hop, brewing liqour and yeast. Our winter beer is a dark and heartwarming beer with a pure, sugary flavour and a long, bitter aftertaste. The alcohol content of this heavy beer is 8,3 % vol.alc.

33cl bottle. poured a murky dark brown colour with a tanned head. caramel sweetness, red fruit, plums, christmas spices, raisins, spices, anise, candi sugar, but it is nothing compared to the grand cru version

Bottle. 2011 vintage. Thanks to KyotoLefty. Massive dark fruit nose, alc. fumes, and dark sugar. Darks translucent brown. Sweetish initial, with alcohol-soaked raisins and light prunes, smooths out in mid and final. Heavy body, near syrupy and feels a bit oily. Strogn and flavorful stuff.

Kerkom’s winter beer, with creamy, yellowish beige, sticky, stable head and very dark burgundy colour, hazy. Aroma of bitter chocolate, raisins, coriander, caramel, liquorice, rosemary, figs in ’jenever’, candi syrup, pomegranate, ginger, black pepper, Irish coffee. Candied fruits, raisins, pear, dates, sharpish spiciness (especially coriander seed), bit resinous, deep caramelly and chocolatey maltiness, roasted bitter touch in the finish, some peppery hops and warming, whisky-like alcohol. Rich and opulent winter warmer.

33 cl bottle at home. Pours a dark, rich colour. Dark brown with a rich head, immediately attractive. Aroma of rich, sweet malt and fruit. Taste is similar, sweet and rich, very nice indeed. Perhaps a little on the sweet side, good nonetheless.

Bottle from Total Wine Boca Raton. Nothing I like to see more on a label than "Ale with Juniper Berries". Pours coca-cola brown with a thin khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Has that spicy Juniper vibe on the nose. It does taste a bit like if they made coca-cola into a beer. It’s flavorful without one flavor dominating. hides the alcohol well. Finishes clean. Nice.

pours a murky brown with little head, which is gone completely by the second sip. first impression of the aroma is that it smells like a "normal" beer, with a hint of extra malt and spice. Taste is fruity, plum & raisin and a little spice. This is the Lost Coast Winterbraun of Belgian beers. I started at 50 degrees, and as it warmed it became a little too sweet and alcoholic, but this is the best of the 4 "Christmas Beers of Belgium" i’ve had so far. I’m still wondering how long these beers have sat for, even though the ones that are marked are not past the drink by date...when the best $3 11 oz beer is a 3.1, it’s a bit disappointing."

330 mL bottle. Dark brown with a small brown head. The aroma is fairly typical for a dark Belgian: candi-sugar, dark fruit, yeast. The flavour is great: boozy, spicy, dark fruit, herbal. Nice body. Delicious.
