Beside the ‘Bloesem Bink’, you can also enjoy a second seasonal beer, the ‘Winterkoninkske’. This beer is, just like the others, unfiltered, not pasteurized, with secundary fermentation in the bottle. The ‘Winterkoninkske’ is the ideal beer to make a cold and chilly winter evening pleasant. The ingredients are: seven types of malt (among which rolled oats), two belgian types of hop, brewing liqour and yeast. Our winter beer is a dark and heartwarming beer with a pure, sugary flavour and a long, bitter aftertaste. The alcohol content of this heavy beer is 8,3 % vol.alc.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Bierkaffee ’t Middelpunt in Zolder. Likely vintage. Thx! Dark chestnut, woody, touch black with little mocha head. Nose is full of chocolate, dark fruits, BE yeast, touch syrup, hint esters, lovely & soft, everything you could possibly want. Taste is thick chocolate, lots of ripe & soft BE dark fruits, syrup, chocolate, cake, syrupy, caramel, warming, toffee, hint boozy even. Substantial but easy to drink. Truly impressive within & outside of its style, stellar brew.

this is a cracker from the tap(we are the only bar in the netherlands who serve it that way(www.12balcken.nl), because i got interested in this brewery by tasting the bink blond. This winterale is nice dark coloured, with fruity nose and tones in the palate, but with a nice dry finsh which will keep you longing for more. Fortunately not to heavy in the alcohol 7,7%. They invented the name by the way, brewery the Koninck copied them. On the label tere is a real "winterkoninkske" sitting on a hopbell

Bardzo smaczne zimowe piwo, prawdziwe sezonowo warzone w zimie. Rozgrzewajaca nuta i alkoholowy finisz. W zapachu ciasteczka korzenne i gozdziki, troche cynamonu. Wielka piana.

Deep black-red, head a bit orange. Nose very caramel, bit sweet, quite malty. Excellent flavor, huge malts, caramel, toffee, choc. Finishes with hops, some powdery cocoa. Creamy. Damn good.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2011 Draught @Brasserie 4:20 (Rome) - Excellent winter beer! Dark brown appearance, with a very exciting cream-yellow foam. Aroma of malts, fruits and caramel. Taste is sweet, malts, caramel, very spiced, a bit fruited and light hopped. Medium-high body. I loved it.

Zwart bier zonder schuim.

Indian-red in color. Huge medium chocolate brown head is partially diminishing, leaving behind a fine lacing. Musty, yeasty aroma full of ripened fruit (plums, dates), raisins, and brown sugar. Soft palate, with plums and dates pronounced. Slightly cobwebby. A slight hint of alcohol, but not much at all. Rather rich, with toffee and overripened fruit notes coming out as it warms. Rather high carbonation, but it works well with this, giving a slightly higher perception of spiciness than is actually there.

Sweet maltiness predominates in this heavy warming brew. The aroma smacks of caramel and toffee. It pours a deep reddish brown with a quickly diminishing tan head. The flavors feature strong dark fruits, hedge nuts, and rich sugary malt with a very faint soft hoppiness in the finish. This brew excels in its complexity; and its rich taste develops further as the brew warms. Truly a fantastic beer.
