COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 2013). Aroma and taste of dark roasted malt, hops and some licorice. Dry finish. This beer do not taste like a Black IPA!

Translucent black with ruby highlights. Fully fading beige head. Chocolate fudge to the nose. A whiff of dark fruits and cold coffee. A vague hint of cardboardy hops. Slick texture, less than medium full. Discreet fruity bitterness. Mildly roasted dark malts, resembling coffee and chocolate. A light bitterness in a short malty finish. The BB date was 10.03.2014, which explains the lack of hop aroma and bitterness. [0,33 l bottle from a trade with Cunningham]

Keg at 9 Ans Olhall, Goteborg, 23/03/14. Light black with a moderate tan covering that retains well. Nose is thin for the style with light biscuit, dark berry fruit, cocoa powder and faint hops. Taste comprises light pine, touch of grapefruit, cocoa powder, light roast, bitter hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Very mediocre CDA, limited hops, no punch.

330 ml bottle. A dark brown body with a beige head. Aroma has dark malt, slightly roast and blackcurrant. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, berries and some kind of bitterness that’s a bit difficult to place. Nice body and decent aftertaste. Not exactly the kind of beer I will think of as an IPA or black IPA. Still not bad and quite enjoyable without anything extraordinary.

Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, brown in color and with a dense, finger-thick beige head on top. Weak aroma with maltyness, nuts and a faint roasted note. It’s malty on the palate, with caramel and some chocolate flavor, nutty notes and a touch of roasted malts. Medium to full body, quite dryish. Roasted finish. A nice one, but not not much black IPA-ish. 140110
