330 ml bottle. Vintage 2013. BBE 2023. At the Ruby & the Fellas, Tampere, Finland. Black colour with a tiny frothy white head. Roasted malt, hops and sweetness in the aroma. The flavour is fruity hops, dark malt, moderate bitterness and alcohol. Quite easy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33cl bottle from systembolaget bs. Vintage 2013. Pours black with big brown head. Smokey aroma with sweet coffee taste, oaky feeling. Long lasting bitter aftertaste. A bit unballanced. Probably great after a couple of years.

Pours black with low tan head. Aroma of oak barrels, smoke, chocolate and light coffee. Taste is lightly bitter, smoky and roasty. Body is a tad too light but smooth with roasty finish.

2012 bottle from Ocado. Dark chocolate brown with a significant mid-brown head. Heady aroma of liquorice, charcoal, molasses. The taste is sweet without being over the top, a chalky bitterness keeping the cloying nature at bay. This is really, really good. The alcohol is well hidden, and the balance is spot on.

2013 Bottle from Waitrose (Ocado). Pours a dark brown/black with a light tan head. Sweet creamy chocolate aroma, with wood, dark fruit, grass and light resin. Medium body, medium carbonation. There’s dark chocolate, dark fruits, light rum, light lemon, light coffee, orange, some booze... Fairly easy drinking actually. Pretty good.

Dark cola brown, almost black beer with big creamy mocha colored head which lasts long. First aromas are strong with wood and vanilla. Later on there’s more usual porter aromas such as roasted malts and dark chocolate, and the oak stays in the background. Flavor has roasted malts, peat, bitterness, acidic covffee, dark chocolate, toasted rye bread crust and toasted caramelly sweetness. Palate is full and bitterly stingy with mild carbonation. Finishes with a medium bitterness leaving aftertastes of bourbon barrel wood and vanilla as well as roasted malts and light toasted caramel sweetness. I like the amount of oak here, it doesn’t override everything else. A nice enjoyable porter. A bit metallic when cold.
