Försöksbrygd oktober 2009. Humlad med Perle, Hallertau och Amarillo. 14.0 Plato.

Periskop upp!

Medelstor kropp.

Flaska från Systembolaget delad med @msbrindbergs. Kopparfärgad med ljust skum. Förvånansvärt besk men välsmakande.

Flaska från SB. Klar kopparfärgad vätska med tjockt vitt skum. Luktar apelsinmarmelad. Smakar detsamma med en viss bitterhet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml brown bottle with embossed Gotlands Bryggeri name and logo, label in their usual Bishops hat shape, picturing Soviet inspired typography. Poured into a Tulip glass, the appearance is clear dark amber small beige head that when reduced left a little lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and caramel. Flavour of caramel, grapefruit, orange marmalade, bread, toffee and spices. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied, soft texture and average carbonation. Overall Gotlands Red October is a great tasty beer for the style, I like this Breweries interpretation of an Oktoberfest beer.

Bright dark orange beer with lots of blonde head. Aroma has resinous, piney and herbal hops with caramelly sweet malts. Flavor is dry resinous, caramelly sweet, bready malty, bitter and slightly yeasty. Medium full palate. Medium strong bitterness with aftertaste of herbal hops. A bit too much bitter hops for this style, tastes almost like an out of date American IPA.

Bought this when it was available at Systembolaget a couple of years ago. Malty with caramel and a slight sweetness, some citrusy-aromas aswell.

Starköl 33 cl. Alk 6,0 vol% the label says. Found at Vinmonopolet Langnes Tromsø, which labelled the shelf "danish beer", though it is made on the island Gotland, belonging to Sweden. Moderate orange-peel-coloured head on a somewhat hazy deep amber body. Some scents of lemongrass, hops, grass, leaves, maybe meadwort. Tastes lime, lemon peel, hops, grapefruit, and very faint roasted malts. Mouthfeel weighted more to the bitter side. Ends with the light hoppy bitterness, and overall I think that this could be a strong british bitter, though style "Oktoberfest/Märzen" may be alright too - "Bitter Märzen" does not exist as classification anyway. Fruity-bitter strong-tasting beer.
