Shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Clear golden beer, soapy off-white head. Nose is sweetness, perfume, fruit and moldy strawberries, it’s the Sorachi I guess. Flavor is fruity, malt notes, rice and more o those damn strawberries. Hoppy bitterness in the finish along with some booze. Not for me.

33cl bottle from Koht, Tallinn. Pours clear deep golden with a white head. Herbal and slightly fruity aroma with notes of sour berries and hints of citrus and sour milk. Moderate sweet with moderate fruity and herbal flavours, some sour notes and a fairly pleasant bitterness. Slightly strange, but still quite drinkable.

Tap@Paddys, Malmo - pours hazy golden with white head. Sweet fruity and floral aroma and taste, caramel, distinct and pleasant sorachi ace, decent drop.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - no BBE dating, at Koht, courtesy of FatPhil, 20140715) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had coconut, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were coconut, fruitiness, more coconut, malts and bitterness. Afteraste was hoppy and bitter with coconut. Yes, I don’t like sorachi ace.

330ml bottle (Koht, Tallinn)
Pleasant for a sorachi ace beer - shock horror! Gentle coconut oil aroma. Pretty mellow body, almost as if it had rice as an adjunct. Keeps the alcohol under control, but not the sorachi ace. It’s still at a passable level though, just a bit of a gimick, but drinkable. Other aromatic hops can’t compete. Bitter hops not really present either. Simple, and that’s a good thing.

Tap at 2112. Pours lightly yellow with a with bubbly head. Smells like a lager. The taste is not bitter nor hoppy. Not enough to make a mark.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 2013). Aroma and taste of caramel, fruity hops and spices. The taste is also a bit odd with aromas of herbs and dill, and with a tangy finish. This is funny because this odd flavors actually makes me think of Japanese food. Maybe this is why the beer is named Shogun!

330ml bottle, 7.2 % abv, at Café Sånn in Tromsø. Shared with Kjell. Cloudy orange coloured body. Bubbly filmy layer, dotted spots on the glass. Peach, lemon and fresh apricot on the nose. The taste profile is like a potpourri of fruity hops, peach, apricot and mango, lightly spiced. Lingering smooth bitter tail. Well bodied. A super fresh, tasty brew (05.06.2014).
