Sometimes you want a particular beer, and you can’t get a particular beer. In this region, American IPAs are few and far between. Enter #002. Flavorful, well-balanced, and best of all, right here. Cheers! “This IPA is all about a good malt foundation and a whole lotta’ hops. We’ve got Wisconsin-grown Centennial, Chinook and Columbus varieties in here, plus some west coast Cascade. This brew packs a symphony of flavor. I think you’ll enjoy it. Hey, if you’re hoppy, I’m hoppy.”

Sample at the tap room. Clear pale orange-amber color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Mostly clear light golden pour with a smaller white head. Some citrus and resin on the nose but it smells slightly stale. Medium palate, decent carbonation, and the hops are fairly well balanced.

Bottled. Poured clear, lighter golden with a creamy, sticky white head. The aroma picked up sweeter citrus and peppery notes over sweet caramel and light biscuits.. not all that hop-focused or interesting, but it appeared to have nice balance. The flavor found mostly pale and caramel malts at the core with dank, lightly vegetal notes around.. tacky and bitter on the finish. Lighter-bodied with moderate carbonation.. OK feel.. overall not very enjoyable.

On draught at the new Wisconsin Brewing Company tap room in Verona, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden amber colored brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, some light citrus and grassy hop profile and a touch of earthy herbs. Taste is medium bodied, plenty of earthy and grassy hop bitterness that hides much of the caramel malt. Finish is semi-dry, some lingering bitterness with a hint of light caramel malt. Tongue shocker scale- three to four minutes.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan body. Thin, off-white head. Middle of the road, but well done IPA. The hops are there, but not really that bold, or new school...classical American IPA. Some grapefruit, citrus tones. Easy drinking despite the big ABV.

Aroma is dank/grassy hops and light notes of citrus and fruit. The flavor is citrus, grapefruit, fruit, a good hint of hop resin in the texture and a dry and mildly tangy finish.

On tap at Wisconsin Brewing. Golden amber with a thin white crown. Aroma is tropical and sweet with grapefruit, citrus and floral hops and a caramel backer. Tastes is a tropical/floral mix with citrus and sweet malt mixed in. Finish is a tad dry with slightly below average bitterness for the style.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear orange amber, medium creamy beige head, dissipates fairly slowly with good lacing left behind. Aroma is light pine, citrus, caramel, more pine. Flavor is light sweet and light bitter, sprucy, citrus, bread and pine. Medium body, medium soft carbonation. Also not bad, but lacking the juicy pop of the better IPAs.
