Not enough flavor to this, but still a good beer. Not up to the level of Anchor Porter though.

I love porters. This one is okay, but nothing outstanding that I’d go out of my way for.

Poured a nice dark brown with a modest beige head and lacing. Aroma was of roasted malts and coffee. Taste was also of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa and a light hop bitterness finish. Mouthfeel was pretty good. Overall, a fairly decent Porter from the folks @ Sand Creek.

Dark black. Virtually no head. Aroma of chocolate. Flavor is roasty, chocolate malt, Body is on the lighter side.

Aroma of mild roast, some chocolate, caramel and maybe a bit of toffee present. Appearance is deep ruby black with thin tan head. Flavor of caramel and some chocolate up front; these come off as tangy. The finish reveals a little more roast character overall without a discernible hop presence. This beer is light bodied with a thin texture; the carbonation is average. Just kinda dull; the kind of porter you’ve had time and again.

Bottle. The pour was a medium brown with an orange hue and a large (2-3 finger) khaki colored rocky head that diminished to a thin layer of residue with a decent collar and had fair lacing. The aroma was super light of a toasted chocolate malt, a mild resin hop and a doughy yeast with notes of chocolate and coffee. The taste was lightly sweet with a hint of chocolate at first then became a smooth bitter malty with a note of coffee towards the end. The flavor lasted a short while with a weak coffee taste left behind. Mouthfeel was just a little shy of medium in body and had a slight watery texture with a mild but firm carbonation. Overall the taste was a little stronger than the aroma but still was a tad on the mild side...

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2012 Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 01/06/2012. This beer pours a dark mahogany-orange color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly to a film. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate along with a bit of caramel. Light to medium body with a roasty malt character and notes of caramel and touches of woody hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Barely average overall.

It looks good upon the pour but falls apart quickly thereafter. Just a hint of chocolate and bakery on the aroma. A very thin body for any beer and especially a porter. Faintly bitter taste that lasts for a surprisingly long time. I’m relieved I received only one of these in a gift six-pack.

35cl bottle via a friend who went to the US. Reasonable off white creamy head. Clear amber pour. A bit watery for my tastes but nice enough

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.
