Black River Falls is in the heart of cranberry country, and this fall seasonal is a German ale brewed with real Wisconsin cranberries. Not your typical, sweet fruit beer, our Cranberry Special is well balanced with a refreshing tart finish.

Sand Creek Brewery Night at Three Cellars. Very subtle. I would have liked to taste more the Cranberry. On the Plus side it was definitely not over powering as many fruit beers I have had are. Pleasant.

Thus far this is the worst fruit beer i have ever had. Really weak on the aroma, bland appearance. And shitty flavor. I would rather stand around for a series of hours and watch a bunch of red-necks pick eachothers belly buttons and drink bud light "the queef of beers" than ever try this disasterpiece again.

Leave it to Wisc to turn any kind of fruit into alcohol: pours a clear orange body with a small thin white head. aroma is strong of tart cranberries and lemon. taste is relatively light, fruity- finishes a little sour.

Light amber with thin white head. Aroma of sweet malts with light cranberries. Taste of sweet malts and cranberries with a semi-tart finish. Better than I expected.

Bottle into English pint glass. Pours a brown-amber with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity hops and a trail of the advertised cranberries. Flavor is essentially a sweet, lightly roasted malt ale with cranberries hanging out underneath throughout. Palate is mildly astringent and a bit more oily than preferred. Otherwise, a unexceptional yet drinkable brew.

Smells lightly of cranberry candle wax. Pours a lovely darker orange/light red with a brown hued cream top. Not sweet or bitter, quick finish. Not horrible but nothing to write home about. Very bland.

12 oz bottle. Aroma starts out with lovely cranberry flavor, but somehow that falls off into an almost plastic-y scent. Not a good start. Flavor is similar, starts out with a promising burst of cranberries, not quite enough to carry the flavor though, and it ends in a flat malt flavor. Palate is thin and oily. Oh well. Iíll try making beer bread with it.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with CaptainCougar (thanks!). Sand Creek label. Poured a medium and hazy amberish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of cranberries, grains, and fruits. Tastes of cranberries, berries, and sugary sweet.

My label says Sand Creek Cranberry Special Ale. 12oz bottle, no date. Minimally hazy medium orange with a small light yellowish white head, fading to a ring rather quickly. Iím hard-pressed to find any cranberries in here, though the sugary cereal Trix definitely comes to mind--sweet malts and artificial fruitiness. Flavor adds some tart fruitiness, though I still canít say that itís cranberry, and pretty much continues with the sweet Trix schtick. Add a tinge of toast in the finish, and that sums up the beer. No bitterness. Light carbonation with a light body. Not really worth seeking out.

Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Brennanís Country Farm Market in Brookfield, WI. Pours a clear reddish copper brew with a fast dissolving white head and dissipates clean. Aroma of some light fruity character, a touch of light white bread malt and that is about it. Taste is lightly carbonated, light to medium bodied, with just barely any tart berry flavor. Finish is quite watery, a hint of cranberry tart and after a few seconds, nothing. From being so close to the cranberry bogs of Tomah, this brew could use some more cranberry.
